Hope by the sea san Juan capistrano has amazing staff for therapy and groups. They've put in me in a place where I'm excited to move forward with my recovery and use the tools I am now equipped with. With that said my experiance with management is less than stellar. The case managers are given so many clients it's difficult for them to keep track of who is who. If there is something you need it's safe to say you will have to ask too many people just to get a reasonable answer. And some things that should be logical are never that easy. I have been very patient with the process but I can jump and shout "im discharging next wed!" To them til I'm blue in the face. Then I'll have to show up on thursday to get my discharge paperwork because they forgot to complete it... then I'll have to wait until friday to get a letter of completion for work when I needed it on thursday at least! Now instead of going back to work monday (after 2 months of not working and finances dropping past 0) I have to sit and wait to hope to start wed... part of my discharge plan included going to work on monday and i repeated that to them too many times and they still mess that up for me If you want to get a solid foundation for your recovery. Hope by the sea worked wonders and is worth it, but just assume that management has no idea what's going on at all times and will forget almost instantly after being told. My experience at Hope by the Sea was life changing. The journey to get there was rough and at times I wanted to come home. But the staff was excellent and took a very personal approach to my situation . I am grateful for where it has brought me today

Hope by the Sea saved my life. It was a safe place for me to open up and get the help I needed. They offer a variety of methods to help learn to deal with emotions and issues that kept me from living a happy sober life. The staff truly cares about each client. I will forever be thankful to my Hope people.

I was brought to Hope by the Sea through A&E’s “Intervention”. Hope by the Sea was specifically chosen for me since I had undergone many different forms of trauma and they were equipped to handle a case of my type. I had to process sexual trauma as well as the death of my husband and a CPS case involving my four year old. I had been to three treatment centers previously and all that they had done was heavily medicate me and kick me out. Not Hope By The Sea. Hope took the time to wean me off my medications and reassess my mental health diagnosis and set me up with a great treatment team. They worked with me through the hardest times of my life. I was able to open up and work on myself in a safe place. I stayed at Hope for over three months and I now can say that I have my life back. They were especially helpful with the family program and showing my family how to support me in my addiction. I have been sober for 6.5 years now, have custody back of my child, and have a whole new life and family. Even though I am 6.5 years sober I know that I can call anyone at my family at Hope by the Sea and they will be there for me. They were there to support me when my mom passed away when I had two years sober and I know that they are still there for me. There are not many good places left, unfortunately. If it was not for Hope by the Sea I would be dead for sure and my child would have no mother or father...today, she gets to have both. Thank you so much for all you do.

I owe my life to everyone at Hope By The Sea. They helped me wade through the dark, messy places in my life. The staff is professional but so very caring for every individual who enters their doors. I highly recommend Hope By The Sea!

I entered hope by the sea desperate. I have never ever encountered staff that was so polite and kind as this facility. Their doctor provided me with a very comfortable detox from drugs I was addicted to when I was in the hospital. Everything was clean and the food was plentiful. Our house manager must of been a 5 star chef in another lifetime. If i REQUESTED HELP OR HAD QUESTIONS NEVER ONCE WAS i SHUNNED OR BRUSHED OFF. This place cares and does the best at what they do. If you need care help and are willing trust this program and their staff, they care. I give this program 5 stars easily and highly recommend them to anyone who has a problem. today Im clean and feel wonderful! The best !!1

HBTS Saved my life. They took me in when the best option seemed like death. The staff is genuine and get to know you on a personal level. It's not one of those state/county funded programs that get you in and out as fast as possible. The love is genuine. The care is genuine. Give it a chance!

Out of all the places I could’ve ended up, I am incredibly grateful that I ended up here. The staff genuinely cares about every one of the clients, the house managers always had my back and would help me out if I needed anything, and the therapists here are no joke. Like anywhere you go, you’ll have people who come in as clients who either aren’t ready to accept help yet, or start off with a negative mindset and blame the bad experiences they have on the center, or the founders for “only caring about money”, but I assure you, at Hope the staff really does care. When news of someone relapsing comes across, the staff here shows their emotion and impact it has on them, you, all of us. I saw true compassion for everyone, and not only do they truly want to help, but they welcome all kinds of people from all walks of life with open arms and patience. This place saved my life. I stayed 90 days, and believe me, “I was ready to leave after 30”... then 40... then 50... but I kept finding reasons to stay, and with the help of many incredible people, both staff and clients, I was persuaded again and again to stay just a little longer... and every time I felt down, or I wanted to give up, they helped me to see a brighter future. The groups may seem repetitive at first, but I can say after spending 90+ days there that not a single group was ever the same, and there is always something new to learn about addiction, yourself, or situations you can’t go back and change. Hope By the Sea changed my life for the better, and I personally don’t think there’s a single place out there that functions as much like a family as this place.

Hope by the Sea is a fantastic treatment center. The clinical staff is amazing and was always their for me and my treatment no matter what. It is also a family owned center and it definitely has that feeling to it, everyone is really caring and extremely nice. The entire staff was amazing from the owners to the drivers they all genuinely care about their clients. I would recommend this treatment center to anyone who is looking to get the help the deserve for substance abuse.

I want to thank the entire staff for the care, treatment and respect they demonstrated to me during my stay there. I found that the balanced approach of digging deep and processing my root issues and feelings along with working through them in a solid Christian faith based track, made my healing possible. Rediscovering my true identity and accepting that i have a disease were the foundational building blocks on which I will work a solid recovery program. I'm grateful for the tools and understanding that makes my life once again hopeful.

Hope By The Sea is a life saver in the drowning waters of addiction. I came to HBTS scared and fearful I could never stay clean and sober. Through their program I was able to understand my disease/addiction and come grips with all of my personal issues and defective character traits. The entire staff, from the detox center to the house managers to the fellas in the kitchen, all give support and love in order to help you stay on program. By no means is it cake-walk, but if you put in your best you will hands down receive the best possible care in order to live a life worth living and stay alive. This program is amazing . Absolutely the best program anywhere. The therapy is amazing, counseling, groups, everything. I wish there was more stars because they would be marked.

This place is SO sincere and the ownership is an amazing family. I have first hand experienced relationships within the staff and each and every person I have built relationship with has the BEST heart for people to get help. Not only have they been around for a long time to know how to help treat addiction, but they are safe place for restoration with NO judgement or business involved. This company is ran from the heart and more companies in treatment need to operate this way in order to see true change in the lives that need it.

My son has been in treatment for one week in the Complete Compassion (Hope By the Sea) recovery program. He went through a medical detox with few complaints. He is now at the campus and has been has able to speak to me over the phone. He says that he feels safe and loved , he seemed to have an ultra positive reaction to the treatment. He also says that some of the holistic parts to the program havent happened yet or cost extra....?? The first week is the hardest..... 4 stars!

Hi everyone!! I wanted to share my amazing experience at Hope By the Sea. I arrived at Hope by The Sea August 26th, 2015. I was terrified upon getting ready to embark in a journey of sobriety that seemed so foreign to me. I had been to three separate 30 day rehab facilities the previous years, and would have very short periods of sobriety upon returning home followed by painful relapses. Each relapse became progressively worse. The shame, guilt, and pain that I was living in seemed like a continuous cycle of misery. I felt depressed, disgusted, and shameful so I would drink, and I would wake up physically and emotionally defeated so, I turned to the only coping tool I had which was to numb with even more drinking. I had hit a different level of rock bottom the weeks prior to arriving at Hope By the Sea. I was hopeless, had just gotten a DUI and totaled my car, and my life and relationships were in shambles. I didn't know where to go to get help but I knew that I couldn't keep living the way I was. I needed to do something different, I needed to remove myself from my hometown, I needed to commit to more than 30 days, and I needed to find a faith-based women's program. I was in detox at John Muir when I stumbled upon Hope By The Sea. The Christian track seemed like one of the very few rehab facilities that offer different tracks to cater to individual client needs and beliefs. I decided to commit to a 90 day stay at Hope By The Sea. I walked in the facility terrified but was greeted by supportive staff that continued to reassure me that things would get better each day. The days at Hope were structured, which was something I was desperately lacking at home. We started our morning at an AA meeting, went to the gym to start to rebuild our strength and health, followed by classes, devotions (for those on the Christian track), trauma therapy, behavioral therapy, art, yoga, etc. We were all assigned to an individual therapist to dive in deeper to those core issues that keep us choosing to numb and discovering new healthy ways to deal with experiences. Today, I am a grateful recovering alcoholic that has been sober for 20 months. I owe a huge part of my success to the tools and foundation that I established at Hope By The Sea. It is an amazing place, with staff that genuinely care for the clients and will go out of the way to ensure they get the care they need to set them up for a healthy life. I have remained in Orange County and, Hope by The Sea most definitely has one of the best reputations in California. They are known for being a caring facility that is not just looking to make money but create an atmosphere and education to optimize every minute you have. I couldn't recommend Hope By the Sea more! I will be forever grateful for my opportunity to get the care I needed and for giving me hope and a life I never felt was possible 20 months ago!

Amazing place that helped me change my life!! i would suggest this to anyone seeking treatment, they tailor your treatment plan to fit your needs and help make you feel at home! The staff is amazing, the activities are perfect for recovery and the overall experience is completely healing.

Pastor Rick has been a mentor to me since I got there. His groups are so beneficial to so many women. Having a track specific to spiritual well being is something I had never heard of at any of the other 12 step programs I have been to, and it has been life changing for me. I would and will recommend this program to others primarily because of the Christian Track option.

I have the blessed opportunity to have seen hundreds upon hundreds of clients do amazing things to change their lives based on care that they receive at Hop By The Sea. The staff is caring and passionate about what they do. From the deep therapeutic work they do, to the bonds they make with fellow addicts, clients learn they can recover and learn to live without a drink or a drug. They can be happy and find a new purpose in life. If you can find happiness... you'll never find a reason to return to the misery of using substance again!

Best treatment you could ever ask for. The staff really care about you and work with you to get you better, your not just a number or a paycheck to them. Thank all of you there, l have my life back again... You saved my life for sure...
